..I was really happy about the weekend until 8.00pm Friday Night!!.Switched on the idiot box to relax but whoa... the nightmare begins.
Dance !! Dance !! Dance !! Da(m)nce shows on every channel.& Saturday ..it continues! oh my.. Iam tired by now.Sunday I wish something nice is aired on tv and there it is, a re-cap/repeat telecast of all the misery again.Flip any channel,there is some dance competition going on this season.Be it Sony's - Boogie Woogie,Star Pluz's Nach Baliye,Sony's(again) Jhalka Dhiklaja,Vijay tv's Jodi No.1,Sun tv's Mastana Mastana and the like.Anyone in their right sense are likely to get confused with each of these show timings,the pairs,eliminations,judges and ultimately the results too.I gave up keeping track on these after a couple of attempts.
The dance mania is creating boredom for me.Not just boredom ! But a hatred on dance - the art itself..something similar to the mega-serial aversion in youth.Once upon a time,these competitions were definitely entertaining but now??!!!.As the shows progress,the drama enacted also multiplies.The contestants dance less and emote more..The judges rank less and talk more..The Anchors compere less and plead more..
The anchors & contestants shrinking wardrobes is yet another topic of debate.At the end,when I hear them pleading for votes quoting "Jaago..jantha! apna vote ka sahi isthamal karo !" "Apne farse nibao" "Do your duty for being entertained by the contestants,please vote for them" it really turns pathetic & frustrates me to the core.
Patriotic Indian Citizens - Vote to chose the right politicians to run our country.Dont get cajoled !
